Now that the From the Locker Room team have brought you the breaking news of the EuroDov Tour’s newest tournament in 2025, let’s break down what it means as The Championships join the tournament rota.
Firstly, we’ve got 3 new tournaments, let’s look at them one by one.

EuroDov Tour Championship – This is being abbreviated to the ETC and will be a scratch tournament. This means no handicaps will be used in this event.

All players who play in The Championships will be entered with the top 4 player over 36 holes qualifying for the matchplay.

The matchplay will be played on the following Friday (semi-finals) and Sunday (finals) and will be scratch again, no handicap allowance.

2013 Cup – This tournament will use full handicap allowance.

All players who play in The Championships will be entered with the top 4 player over 36 holes qualifying for the matchplay. [excluding the players who have already qualified for the ETC]
The matchplay will be played on the following Friday (semi-finals) and Sunday (finals) with full handicap allowance.

The Senior Championship – This tournament will use full handicap allowance.

This event is open to players over 50, and will be a full handicap allowance strokeplay event, with the best score over 36 holes winning the Championship.

Players in the Senior Championship are also eligible to qualify for the ETC and 2013.

The Tour also announced The Championships will be the new host of the Montgomery Cup – the Tour’s oldest Major – the Bruce Shield and qualifying for the Invitational.

The only change to the format for these events will be a move from an 18-hole full handicap allowance strokeplay event to a 36 hole full handicap allowance strokeplay event.

The Montgomery Cup is open to all players, the Bruce Shield for players with an 18+ handicap and qualification for the Invitational will be through finishing in the top 8.

The Tour has announced that the event will be held at the spiritual home of the Tour, Kinross GC, which adds the course to the strokeplay rota for the first time.

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 6th July 2025.
