In 2018 the EuroDov Tour took it's first steps onto the European Continent with the inaugural EuroDov Cup.

​The Tour chose La Manga Club, a perennial mecca for spring golf, to host the first Cup. The tournament was played over 54 holes consisting of 36 holes in day one, one round on the South Course and one on the North, followed by 18 holes on the North course on day two.

The first cup boasted a field of 6 players and delivered all the excitement the Tour was known for in the RyDov Cup.

​Day one saw the players take on 36 holes. The morning round on the South Course was a tough challenge over a long course with challenging greens. No player excelled in the morning as the short game suffered on the fast and firm greens at La Manga.

​After the morning round the players were bunched up on the leader board with Denis Duncan taking a two stroke lead into the second round.

​The afternoon round on the North course saw the players get to grips with the greens and scores reflected this however they had to deal with a growing wind throughout the afternoon. After a long day the players retired to the clubhouse with a change of player at the top of the board. After a morning round of 92, McColgan responded with an 80 to take a 6 shot lead into the final round.

The final round was competed over the North Course and the mid afternoon conditions were perfect for scoring. This was shown by Stephen Green who opened his final round with 4 pars and set the early pace. However as the round progressed it was apparent that with a 6 shot lead at the start of the day McColgan was not ready to let that slip.

​McColgan would go on to card a closing round 74 and win the first EuroDov Cup by 13 shots. On winning the first EuroDov Cup McColgan said;

"It is always great to get a win under your belt and the first is always the hardest. The event has been a great experience and the host venue fantastic. The challenge of the North and South courses has been outstanding and I look forward to defending my win in 2019."
